So the story goes like this:
I got the apple watch on eBay and it is iCloud locked. The owner is unknown because he was not the seller. I tired to get my money back and can't. So I know his (or her) email starts with a K as it shows when I try and link to my phone. The security is such that I have no way that I know of to contact the pervious owner even though thats all it would take. I thought about calling it in as stolen but then I would lose it and thats not the goal. I talked to Apple many times and while they assured me they are sorry, they refused to help me. I know for a fact that I am not alone in owning an iWatch that now is useless to anyone ever and will go to the trash or to parts for some repair shop if a solution is not found. I would not be mad if I could turn it in and get a different one and they could resell it or something but that is not the case. So what am I to do... please help folks.
If you have purchased the Apple smart watch, have not yet fully grasped all its options and do not know how to unlock or lock the Apple Watch, then this article is just right for you!
I have three Apple products, but one of them is now locked and not working or being recognized by the other two. My laptop is a Mac Air from the 2012 era, mine actually made in 2013; it has latest update short of Catalina since that will require all data to be in 64-bit format and much of my data is older 32-bit stuff for apllications that themselves have no update 9so far, anyway). This worked for me: unpairing my apple watch, removing my apple watch from my Apple ID account, repairing my watch with my iPhone, restarting everything (Mac, Watch, iPhone), and enabling auto-unlock; Putting my phone into Airplane mode, and then connecting the watch through settings on the Mac was what finally worked for me. You shouldn't have to unlock your Apple Watch when it's on your wrist; the only exception to this rule is if you turn off the Apple Watch and then turn it back on. When your Apple Watch isn't on your wrist, it will lock whenever the screen turns off.
In order to protect the smartwatch, the device asks you to enter the pin code I the process of initial setup. If you take the watch off your wrist, it's automatically locked, and you have to enter the code on the onscreen keyboard. PIN code is needed to protect all information stored in the device. Besides, it is impossible to use the Apple Pay app and make payments from plastic cards without the password.
Due to the fact that the watch has a relatively small screen, to enter the code manually is not that easy. You can enter the wrong combination because of really tiny buttons. In order to make things easier for you, it is advisable to use the iPhone. But you need to configure appropriate options to get these two devices to be synchronized.
